Everything related to the Collatz Conjecture (3n+1 Problem)
This a site for discussing the Collatz Conjecture, aka the 3n+1 Problem, in the style of other knowledge-sharing forums that have led to breakthroughs and deeper understanding (eg, Conway’s Game of Life and the Zodiac Ciphers).
A lot is known about the Collatz problem, a lot more remains to be discovered, and of course, the main conjecture is still open. Journal papers remain the primary means of communicating and evaluating results, but we hope to encourage more rapid sharing and collaboration here!
The forum should be good for everyone from newbies to experienced mathematicians … when it comes to longstanding problems, good ideas can come from anywhere.
