Collatz Visualisations

Hi,

I’m working with AI to generate some programs that will help visualise and explore the Collatz problem in various ways. I don’t want to reinvent the wheel, so was wondering if anyone know of some really nice visualisation programs? Mine will show the maths at the same time as the geometric structure, so won’t just be “fun” and pretty visualisations. Looking forward to hearing what systems people know about…

Thanks

Steve

I don’t use AI myself, but I took the time to look up some of the programs other people use to visualize math. Here are some:

  • GeoGebra
  • Three.js
  • Desmos
  • Complexmos
  • Mathematica
  • Python
  • R

I hope this helps. For my own art I use MS Paint, Krita, Aseprite and sometimes Blender. But those programs are probably of no use to you.

Agree. Probably a lot of the visualizations you see around here were done with Wolfram/Mathematica.

Pretty much can be done with GNU Octave. Not as powerful as Mathematica for calculations, but free. I use it a lot for Collatz visuals when I have raw data to plot on figure.
